Blank space copy and paste

Method 1 has three quick buttons: Copy small, Copy medium and Copy large. They copy 1, 3 and 5 of your selected character. The brackets on the buttons are not copied. For a different amount, use Method 2: enter a number or use plus and minus, then click Copy. You can copy up to 100,000 characters.

Once copied, you can paste the blank space into the field you want to use.

What is an empty character?

An empty character looks blank, but it still counts as a character. A completely empty field contains no characters at all. Use the Character menu to choose what gets copied. Hangul Filler is selected by default. Other choices include Space, Braille Pattern Blank, No-Break Space and Zero Width Space.

An app may remove ordinary spaces or combine several into one. Other characters can behave differently. Check the result in the app or field where you plan to use it.

Testing your copied text

Use the test area to verify your copied text. When you click the Paste button, the tool reads your clipboard to insert the content currently stored there. The field displays a character count to confirm what was inserted locally, and you can empty the box using the Clear button.

If the automatic copy ever fails, a fallback box will appear so you can select and copy the text manually. A local paste confirms the insertion and shows its count, but another application may still reject the text.

Using blank text in profiles and chats

People often use blank text for an invisible name on Discord or TikTok, a blank highlight name on Instagram, or a blank message on WhatsApp. Whether it works depends on the app and the field.

A profile name and a message can have different rules, even in the same app. Check the result after pasting. If the app rejects the text, use a visible name or message instead.

Privacy and related tools

All text generation and testing run locally in your browser. The tool only reads your clipboard when you explicitly click the Paste button, though analytics may run.

If you want to inspect exactly which hidden characters are in a piece of text, try the UTF-8 Text Converter. To repeat visible letters or words, check out the Text Repeater.

Blank text FAQ

How do I copy and paste blank text?

+
Choose a character and an amount, then click a copy button. Open the field where you want to use it and paste with Ctrl+V, Cmd+V or your phone's Paste menu.

Is an invisible space the same as a regular space?

+
Not always. Space in the Character menu is an ordinary space. Other choices are different characters. An app may remove spaces from the start or end of a field, or combine repeated spaces.

What is a blank character?

+
A blank character is a text character that can look empty. Its appearance depends on the font or app. You do not need to install a blank font or a special app to copy it.

Is an invisible emoji a real emoji?

+
What people call an invisible emoji or blank emoji is usually a text character rather than a graphical emoji. You can copy it here, but an app or font that does not support it may show a square instead.

Is copied empty text the same as an empty field?

+
No. A truly empty field contains no characters at all. When you paste empty text from this tool, you are inserting hidden characters that increase the character count.

Why does my copied text show up as a square?

+
If your text looks like a square or a box, the app or website you are using does not support that specific Unicode character. Try selecting a different option from the Character menu.
